The iconic Half Dome is probably one of the most photographed monoliths in Yosemite National Park. The late afternoon light was rich, so my brother Mike and I set up the tripod in the meadow. We noticed that the shadows this time of year was rising directly below the rock. We patiently waited until the shadows perfectly cradled Half Dome and I made this amazing image. Patience and prediction often pays off. A unique view of the famous Half Dome.
