Image Notes
I had figured out exactly when I could capture the full moon setting over the Continental Divide with morning alpenglow illuminating the snow. I woke that day at 3:30, looked outside and saw almost compete cloud cover. I almost went back to bed but had all my gear ready, so I headed out with little expectation. As I approached my chosen spot, I noticed that the moon was beginning to peek out from behind the clouds. The rising sun also found a break in the clouds and were illuminating the Divide with alpenglow. I quickly set up and made this image. This image won the Grand Prize in the photography contest for the Clear Creek Land Conservancy, judged by world famous photographer, John Fielder.
